How can Unlock 2.0 change the scenario of the Staffing Industry?

The 2nd phase of the unlock 2.0 by the Govt. has put in some hopes and expectations in the economy. Sectors Like Hotels, Restaurants, Malls are hoping to cope up their survival after a long bearing off loss during the lockdown phase. This unlock was much needed to ensure the revival of these sectors.

However, one of the main sectors that has been impacted by the pandemic is the recruitment industry. The COVID-19 pandemic had given a larger impact on recruitment. The lockdown policies have forced many businesses to shut or downsize. There have been mass layoffs and a significant salary cutoff across industries like retail and hospitality. As a result, many organizations have put their recruitment on hold until the crisis ends.

In terms of recruitment, the most affected by the crisis in the sector are probably the recruitment agencies themselves, particularly those that target the most affected industries. Because agencies tend to be very costly compared to the available technical solutions, it may be a significant amount of time before companies start to outsource the process again.

But the Unlock 2.0 has started new hope among the Staffing industry for sustaining in the current economy. There is still shortage of job due to less demands in various sectors but particularly there have been increased demands in the Industry like retail, ecommerce, Hospitality. Food production and supply chain, to a lesser extent, are also growth industries currently seeking out talent. interestingly, with all the remote work taking place, the telecoms and utilities industries are thriving with a surge in demand for workers. The demand for these roles is increasing due to the rise in the demand for their services so companies do seem to be hiring quickly in order to fill these spots.

The Staffing is industry is always evolving with the new technological changes. Some changes we can definitely expect to see are much of the interview process moving online rather than greater utilisation of recruitment technology. The recruitment sector is a strong and resilient industry and I believe it will bounce back and bounce back stronger.
